I agree we do need this to clean up conflicting threads on Corporate Policies... Not to mention it will help us look more organized and have less BS posted over can we or can't we OC there...

James

I would be willing to volunteer the PDF versions we will be making for the Corporations that are located in MI. This will of course include many other states as many of them are national or international corporations.

Michigan Open Carry is to begin working on this project next week and we hope to have it done by the first week in August... well at least up to date and organized. Perhaps even a search able database.

If you guys want to put together a PDF, I will be glad to put it its own sub-forum and update it as need be.

Thanks!

Will you be my friend?

I have a question about "friends" in the new forum. What purpose does it serve? Is it just a quick place to go to PM a user? I haven't seen a use for the feature. Is there any other functions that accepting a friend does like allowing them to read more of your profile or something?

I like it because when people view my profile (http://forum.opencarry.org/forums/member.php?27296-DrMark), they'll see that the cool folks like me!

But in all seriousness, I don't really know what utility it adds. [shrug]

The forum is not properly marking threads as read for me. The old forum used to be pretty bad about marking threads and forums as read. The transition seemed to have solved that problem. It is back.

Just for kicks, the same page is available right here in our own forum's FAQ.

TFred

The page says how to allow/accept friends but does not say what extra functions "friends" gives you. About the only thing I can think of is if you want to PM someone you have their username easily accessible. Can anyone think of any other uses?

And yes I know what friends are for (in real life) :D

If you would like to restrict the display of some of the blocks on your profile page, select a minimum relationship that other users must meet to see the blocks.

Note: Guests and users on your Ignore List will only be able to view the blocks on your page where you have selected 'Everyone'.

This is getting annoying. When I get a "new post"-email it takes me to an older post I have read several times. Also I have marked certain forums as read using the thread tool but when I come back they are still unread.

It would be nice if the above worked and it would be nice if we could mark each individual thread as read instead of a whole forum. Is there a way to mark an individual thread as read that I am missing? Thanks.

This is similar to the problem I lamented earlier. The system is rarely marking posts read when they are read.

Let me know how this plays out since the 4.0.5 upgrade which happened today (7/15/10) at about 2:00 CST.

Thanks.

So far so good. I opened about 5 threads in email and it took me to the post without going to an earlier read post. I will have to see whether it marks posts read correctly or not from within the forum.
