Never kept one and no need for one, yet. Plus, I just can't afford it right now.
Average cost of a simple digital voice recorder at WalMart or on Amazon:
--$40
Potential cost of a run-in with an out-of-control power-freak LEO who wants to make your life miserable because he can't stand the idea that a mere "citizen" might have the RKBA:
--Humiliation in front of your family and friends
--Incarceration
--Physical abuse/police brutality/being tazed, maced, or beaten with a nightstick
--permanent damage to your legal record
--revocation of your carry permit and the ability to own arms in the future because of a bogus "weapons violation"
--possible loss of job, voting rights, professional certifications, and CHILDREN because of a felony conviction
How can you NOT afford a voice recorder?
For chrissake, dude,
I live in Maryland where I can't carry at all outside my home, and I carry a voice recorder everywhere I go. Of course, I'm usually EHOCing (Empty Holster Open Carrying) but still, knowing what I know about the history of PG County, Howard County, Montgomery County, and Baltimore LEOs, anyone up here who DOESN'T carry a recorder is insane. Just operating a motor vehicle or even walking down the street at the wrong time can get you beaten, maced, tazed, and charged with "assaulting an officer" when you try to ball up to protect yourself from the brutality.
We are in the midst of a hostile takeover of our Nation by foreign corporate interests, who are militarizing the police, training them that anyone who mentions the Constitution or Founding Fathers is a terrorist, and brainwashing them to believe that EVERY traffic stop is a shootout waiting to happen.
The revolution has begun, brother. And Cameras and Voice Recorders are the "Brown Bess" of the 21st Century.
If you are exercising your
RKBA, you simply have NO CHOICE but to also exercise your
RKBR (Right to Kepp and Bear Recorders)...
