Shane Belanger, a 19-year old student at the University of Southern Maine, has organized a Sunday afternoon barbecue for those who want to excercise their right to openly carry their firearms.

Both the barbeque and counter-demonstration get underway at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Portland police will be on hand, but both sides say they want the event to be peaceful.
