Missouri is an open carry State, there fore State parks are OC legal except where prohibited by local laws.

NPS property became legal a few years ago. I sponsored a 2nd amendment rally at the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial the week it became legal (We had to CCW though because of the City of St. Louis). No problems on the arch grounds. The NPS p[olice who were there to greet us knew the laws, knew we were nostly armed, no problems! If I can locate the photo from home I'l post it. I went to Arch grounds that foggy cold morning and stood there with a sign with date.

Is there any statue that touches anything pertaining to state parks?

I'm sure there are mess of statutes regarding Missouri State Parks - search Missouri Statutes.

Related to NPS property this is the sign I took to the arch grounds the day CCW became legal on NPS property:
One other fella the same day posted a picture of him OCing on NPS property the same day.

I work in a Missouri state park, and i found nothing in my superintendent's policy book about simply carrying firearms inside a park, so i have to assume it's based on local (county) law, which would almost always allow for both open carry and licensed concealed carry (for visitors only; as a non-law-enforcement employee of the state, i'm under much more specific and crappier rules). However, unlike on Corps properties, hunting is not allowed inside state parks, and the discharge of any firearm has to be cleared with the superintendent of the park and is usually limited to black powder for war reenactment-style special events. So basically, treat it like you're in town. Don't be a jerk, and don't shoot at anyone that isn't trying to kill you, and you're unlikely to have any trouble.

Also, know what kind of park you're in before you carry in. You'd be surprised how many people confuse us with every other type of public use area in existence.

Thanks Gunner...I was looking through MO statues outside of the common ones I know but there were so many of them and I just couldn't find any statue about it (maybe because there is none :) )
Where could I find more information on the carry of firearms at National Park Service

Thanks RPGaming...I frequently visit Montauk state park and Mark Twain National Forest.

It was over 2 years ago firearms became legal on NPS property, I couldn't begin to find the reference. You might "GOOGLE IT".

Here is a link to the National Parks and the verbiage on all the other NPS sites. This bill was attached to the Credit Card bill that King Obama wanted passed early on in his presidency. He wasn't going to veto it based upon this firearms provision. He wanted to show he could do something as president, sign his name!

With regards to MO Parks; it's ok to CCW; however for OC, it's ok, unless the local political subdivision has jurisdiction and prevents it.

Code of State Regulations - Division 90

RSMo 253 - State Parks and Historic Preservation

RSMo 258 Outdoor Recreation

Missouri State Parks - Laws and Regulations

These are starting points. The Missouri State parks site has links to the above links to the regs and statutes.

As is the case with the Missouri Constitution. Specifically Art 1 Sec. 23, if it is not illegal, it is other wise legal. I looked at some of this, not all.
As I saw it, and it is more than likely, there is nothing illegal except "discharge of a firearm". Don't go target shooting in "State Parks".
