Thanks for that, but I'm thinking as a practical matter, there's no way I'm going to be able to get down there tomorrow. Aside from my inability to get around as I used to, there's also the matter of gasoline - it hadn't occurred to me before that it'd cost me upwards of sixty bucks just to drive down there and back. When I started driving, gasoline had just gone up to eighteen cents a gallon. Well, no more gratuitous driving for me, I reckon. Good thing I was able to explore Virginia while it was cheap and I was in good enough shape.
I was watching a movie made in 1953 with my wife, B&W of course. About halfway through, looking at all the ancient furnishings, telephones, etc., I commented that we grew up in a totally different world. I think we've been transported to a different planet.
