To me, a blogger is just a public diarist that shares his thoughts and experiences. A journalist investigates and comments on stories purposely for their value to his readership. One can be both, but Garrett is certainly the latter at least.
A lot of journalist's or so called journalist's are nothing more than paid mouth pieces for causes they believe in.
As we have seen in the anti firearm movement very few "journalist" do any investigating or fact checking.
I dont want to derail the thread to much. And I think bloggers are journalists, but didnt a court case come down a couple of years ago that said they were not?
Maybe it got overturned?
Edit yes it did get overturned. Blog On!!!!
Ya'll are really making me feel awkward. I'm a modest guy! But thank you. Nobody reports this stuff and the masses don't find these forums. There are people who damage control on Facebook, but Nevada, Las Vegas in particular, needs truth.
The TV news doesn't do it. The newspapers occasionally do, but they don't. It's the alternative papers, the local 'rags', and us online guys who really do the investigation and the work. The world has shown that it's turning away from single-source news and accepting independent sources. They want truth, they want commentary, they want options.
I have the time (after 5:30, M-F, and weekends, lol) to pursue this stuff, analyze it, and the tenacity to follow through. If it wasn't for guys like us, who would be leading the charge? Metro might very well just wait until October. Maybe getting non-stop calls and comments has forced them to step it up a bit.
We'll see when we get a response (hopefully today, probably at the late Friday afternoon news dump). Today's Friday, right? I sure hope so... If not, on Monday we'll call for tar and feathers.
