This guy is a friend of friend. He makes damn good money (sells stuff to convenience stores), he virtually gutted his home and redid the inside by himself, DIYs a lot of projects, overall he is what i thought was a smart guy with common sense. Anyway, i saw this post on the FB this morning.
I think he is super lucky he got a CBP agent that realized he is just a poor redneck from arkansas lol. You dont "forget" you have your firearm if you go to court for a traffic ticket or go into the post office? The audacity of his post is almost comical to me "turns out canada (yeah, it's a foreign country) doesnt recognize US laws?!!!! shocker........ i wonder if you can travel from colorado to a neighboring state with weed??? you mean they dont recognize CO law?!!
I feel zero pity for him....
Thought I'd cross the boarder into Canada today, so I did and barely got back to the U.S. Without being arrested. Turns out that Canada doesn't recognize US gun laws even with a CCP. They don't allow firearms across the border even with a permit so my concealed hand gun almost landed me in jail. I forgot I had it in the car until I was asked. i was detained an hour, went through 2 very detailed vehicle searches a back ground check and escorted right back to the US. So what I thought was going to be a nice little drive across the border turned out to be major pain in the arse.
So now I've been to Canada but really wouldn't recommend the place to anyone.
Btw, radar detectors are illegal in canada and a $500 fine.
