Brownells Announces Mag Dump for Washington State:

In response to the standard-capacity magazine ban passed in Washington state, Brownells will donate $2.00 for every aluminum Brownells AR-15 magazine sold to the Washington-based Second Amendment Foundation (SAF). SAF is currently planning to file a lawsuit against the state of Washington on behalf of gun owners in the state.

"Currently own." The statutes passed does not authorize law enforcement to investigate the personal ownership of "large capacity magazine," let alone when a private person acquired such magazine and where.

The law enforcement I know are strong supporters of the 2nd Amendment & follow the oath of office to uphold & defend the Constitution of the United States.

Just to add, the Federal Assault Weapons Ban passed in 1994 and expired in 2004 required Large capacity ammunition feeding device (magazines) to have a serial number and date of manufacture. The regulation (27 CFR 478.92) remained until 2019 when it was finely removed. The regulation remained on the books for 15 years even though it had no force of law. You draw your own conclusion.

Some sporting goods outlets/FFLs are letting everyone know about the deadlines to get firearms that have "high capacity" magazines.

Gottlieb. “We want an injunction against the state because this ban criminalizes something that is common in a majority of states, and also leaves law-abiding Washington citizens more vulnerable to attack by ruthless criminals.”
