Wow. Just when you thought the UK government couldn't sink to further depths on this issue.
Here's what I predict will happen next:
1. Cadets, active duty, and reserves will be required to march and travel to/from work in civilian attire so as not to "glamorize" military uniforms, which may "offend anyone."
2. Britain's S.A.S. (Special Air Services) and The Corps of Her Majesty's Royal Marines will be disbanded so as not to "offend anyone."
3. Police Bobbys will be reduced in rank to constable and required to wear civilian clothes so as not to "offend anyone."
4. All airshows throughout the U.K. will be disbanded, as the predominant attraction are the military aircraft, which will undoubtedly "offend people."
Meanwhile, U.K. knife crime, gun crime, and terrorist activity will skyrocket, unabated, due to the "wonderful advances" the U.K. is making these days towards not "offending anyone."
Date: In the very near future
Dear Mr. U.S. President and all U.S. Senators and Representatives:
Two decades ago, throughout the U.S., we enacted a variety of gun laws whose intention was to reduce gun crime. Our little experiment backfired, and we saw crime skyrocket. When we admitted the error of our ways and relaxed gun laws, crime plummeted.
Recently, the U.K. has been trying their own experiment, but on a much larger scale, and it's effects are disasterous. We've trying reminding them of why such efforts don't work, including the fact that when you disarm the general populace, of which 90% are law-abiding citizens, you make them targets for the 10% of the populace who're law-breaking criminals.
They're not listening. Because they refuse to listen, please DO NOT FOOLISHLY COME TO THEIR RESCUE when their island sinks back into the Middle Ages! To do so would be highly co-dependant on an international level. I do not want my hard-earned taxpayer dollars helping a nation that was perfectly capable of helping itself at one time, but didn't.
The reason matters not. The substance is that there comes a point in time when one has to allow for natural consequences. They are not our fledgling colony, for whom we must care when they foolishly run afoul of trouble.
Sincerely,
since9
