To be honest, for every gun person they tork off there is probably 2-3, or 50 that are happy about the no gun policy. I don't know what the numbers are, but I would bet it is heavily against us. Some of those may not go there either if they DO allow guns. Allowing concealed but not open really only hides the issue and makes people FEEL better, as I see it.
Having said that, I've never been to one and don't know where the nearest one is. If there is an alternative to whatever they are selling that does not infringe on me, I will do business there.
I open carry everywhere I can, all the time. I've only made one exception, for the Foster and Smith Retail Store in Rhinander, WI. I have a yellow plastic banana that I open carry in my holster, along with two loaded mags on weak side. I've had a nice talk with the manager, and usually some customers about every time I've been there. Always pleasant, never get mad no matter what is said to me. The Manager put it off on corporate, they are now owned by PetCo, but it was that way before. The yellow banana attracts more attention than a black gun does, so it seems.
We went thru some of this in WI shortly after we got CC, finally in 2011. We had some open carry before, but not the same intensity as Texas I don't believe. A lot of those signs have come down over the last couple of years. Give it some time for people to actually see it is not an issue, and maybe they lost some business due to their decision. It's a small step backwards for a future big step forward most likely. Normalization of open carry for normal citizens is a pretty big pill to grasp for non gun people apparently.
